The Rec Center has great facilities for exercising including weights, an indoor track, basketball courts, cardio machines, The Edge, and saunas in the locker rooms. It is available to UNCG students for free and to UNCG faculty and staff for a fee. They also organize intramural sports competitions.
Machines[]
The weight resistance machines are immediately to your left upon entering the recreation center. They are past the track and before the freeweight room; they will be very easy to spot, as the entire room is filled with them. The machines are well maintained and there is a good variety of them.
The cardio machines are located in several areas: next to the weight machines, around the track, and at the bottom of the staircase.
Equipment Available for Rental[]
There are several items of equipment available to students including:
Weight belts, Medicine balls, Basketballs, Racquetball rackets, and even Rockclimbing shoes for the Edge.
Make sure to explore all that the Student Recreation Center has to offer.
Locker Rooms[]
The locker rooms are nice facilities with plenty of lockers. The lockers do not have a lock, so if you want to put your things in them without having to worry about them being stolen you have to bring your own lock, or you could use the lockers by the treadmills for $0.25. There are showers and bathrooms located in the locker room, and there is also a sauna that is great to relax in after working out.

- Alumni Membership - $260.00/year. Memberships available with a contribution to the University through Advancement Services.
